A new computer worm raced across the globe yesterday, finding unprotected computers and using them to launch new attacks as it slowed down online traffic for businesses and consumers.

Industry experts said the worm, nicknamed "Sasser," is particularly nasty because you don't need to open an e-mail message or attachment to get infected.
