Whitney Young's bid to reach the IHSA Class AA state championship round came up short Monday night when the Dolphins dropped a 4-2 decision to St. Rita in a Super sectional at Hawkinson Field, in Crestwood.
Young pitcher Max Friedman, who had thrown shutouts in the Dolphins Public League title game win over Lane Tech and the sectional victory over Mt. Carmel, was outstanding once again, this time in relief, but it wasn't enough."We're looking forward to having [Marcus Jordan] here at Whitney Young, not only as a basketball player, but also as a student."
