Commission launches Digital Agenda for Europe
The Commission has launched its Digital Agenda for Europe with the aim of maximising 'information and communication technologies' ("ICT") across Europe and spurring economic recovery. This is one of the initiatives set out in the Europe 2020 strategy (for smart sustainable and inclusive growth). Earlier this week the Commission also published its report on Digital Competitiveness which provides significant support for the Digital Agenda strategy. The report identified the ICT sector as one of the key drivers of the European economy.
