Mandatory company registration on the "Tawteen platform"

Registration on the "Tawteen platform" is now mandatory for all companies operating in Oman, regardless of their size or industry. In practice, however, this regulation is only enforced to a limited extent and mainly applies to companies involved in government projects or operating in regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, energy, telecommunications, and finance.

About the "Tawteen platform": This is a platform of the Omani government that aims to promote Omanization (i.e., further increasing the number of Omani nationals in employment) in line with Oman Vision 2040. It serves as a platform for recruitment, processing work permits and visa applications for employees and tracking Omanization quotas and compliance with regulations.

Die Registrierung auf der "Tawteen-Plattform" ist nun für alle in Oman t'tigen Unternehmen obligatorisch, unabh'ngig von ihrer Gr'sse oder Branche. In der Praxis wird diese Vorschrift jedoch nur begrenzt durchgesetzt und gilt haupts'chlich für Unternehmen, die an Regierungsprojekten beteiligt sind oder in regulierten Branchen wie Bankwesen, Gesundheitswesen, Energie, Telekommunikation und Finanzen t'tig sind.

Über die "Tawteen Plattform": Dies ist eine Plattform der Regierung des Omans, die darauf abzielt, die Omanisierung, (damit soll die Anzahl der Besch'ftigung von omanischen Staatsangeh'rigen weiter erh'ht werden) im Einklang mit der "Oman Vision 2040" zu f'rdern. Sie dient als Plattform für die Rekrutierung, die Bearbeitung von Arbeitsgenehmigungen und Visumantr'gen für Mitarbeiter sowie die Verfolgung der Omanisierungsquoten und der Einhaltung der Vorschriften.

Due to the fact that the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system will come into full effect on February 25, 2026, British and Irish dual nationals traveling to the United Kingdom are advised to apply for an ETA at least 30 days before their intended date of travel.
