Green (Liquidator of Stealth Construction Limited) v Ireland [2001] EWHC 1305 (Ch)

Statute requires guarantees and contracts for the sale of land to be in writing and signed. A 2006 case, J Pereira Fernandez SA v Mehta is authority for the proposition that an exchange of emails can constitute signing for the purposes of a guarantee. There needs to be an addition of signatures to the foot of an email, not merely an automatic addition by the email system.
