Antidumping Investigation On The Imports Of Automotive Glass From Mexico And China

It was published on July 29 in the Official Gazette Circular SECEX no. 42, issued by the Secretariat of Foreign Trade, initiating an anti-dumping investigation in Brazil on the imports of tempered and laminated automotive glass, from Mexico and China.

The product under investigation is commonly classified under positions 7007.11.00, 7007.19.00, 7007.21.00, 7007.29.00 e 8708.29.99 of the Mercosur Common Nomenclature (NCM).

The investigation was requested by Associação Técnica Brasileira das Indústrias Automáticas de Vidros - ABIVIDRO, representing the domestic industry.

The period considered for the analysis of dumping is from January 2014 to December 2014 and the period considered for the analysis of injury is from is from January 2010 to December 2014.

The argued dumping margin is 184,7% for Mexico and 356,2% for China.

Because China is not considered as a market economy country in Brazil, the domestic industry appointed Mexico as the third market economy for the purpose of calculating the normal value. This choice can be challenged by the exporters.
