New Bidding Procedure For Port Facilities At Organized Ports

The public consultation sponsored by the Brazilian Agency for Waterway Transportation ("ANTAQ") to gather contributions for the draft of the Tender Protocols and Lease Agreements of the Port Facilities located at the Organized Ports ("Port Facilities") of Paranaguá/PR, Salvador/BA, Aratu/BA and São Sebastião/SP started on Wednesday, October 2, 2013.

The Port Facilities are included among the four blocks of investments which were announced by the Special Secretariat for Ports ("SEP") on July 4, 2013, while Provisional Measure no. 595/2012 was in force, now converted into the current Law no. 12815/2013.

The 10 Port Facilities to be leased were announced by the SEP on September 27, 2013, and comprise the second group of leases launched by the Federal Government to promote transportation of grains, fertilizers, cellulose, vehicles, liquid bulk and general cargo in the respective regions.

Contributions should be sent to ANTAQ by 5:00 p.m. on October 25, 2013, using a specific electronic form. Notice of Public Hearing no. 07/2013 scheduled three Face to Face Hearings to be held on October 17, 18 and 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in São Sebastião/SP, Salvador/BA and Paranaguá/PR, respectively.
