UK and China sign Copyright Memorandum of Understanding

The UK and Chinese Governments have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on copyright. Under the agreement, the countries will work together on copyright issues to promote strong trade between them. The UK Government hopes, in particular, that the agreement will encourage UK businesses to look to deal in China on products that involve intellectual property. The two countries will share ideas and best practice. The five year agreement will look to develop ways of protecting businesses from losing the benefits of their creativity because of piracy and counterfeiting.
