Govt impounds FF certificate of 52.

The government scrapped the Freedom Fighter certificate of 52 persons, including former army officer Risaldar Mosleh Uddin Khan, one of the condemned killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. A gazette notifying the cancellation of their titles was published on January 5 in line with the recommendations made at the 70th meeting of the National Freedom Fighters Council. Liberation War Affairs Minister Mozammel Haq apprised reporters of the action Sunday, coinciding with the historic Homecoming Day marking the return of the independence leader from captivity in Pakistan during the freedom fight for liberating Banglsdesh.
