Jersey Mike's Subs is teaming up with Best Buddies International to raise funds and awareness of the nonprofit's mission of inclusion.

Through Oct. 31, customers using the Manasquan-based sandwich chain's app will have the option to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar or donate up to $5 when placing their order.

Founded in 1989 by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Best Buddies strives to create opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development and inclusive living for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

With nearly 3,000 chapters worldwide, Best Buddies' programs serve more than 1.3 million people, helping them secure rewarding jobs, live independently and make lifelong friendships.

Shriver the sister of journalist Maria Shriver and nephew of President John F. Kennedy said the organization "is excited about this new partnership and incredibly grateful" for Jersey Mike's support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
