What a whitewash!

Sports Report Bangladesh recorded their biggest-margin victory in Test cricket as the Tigers beat the West Indies by an innings and 184 runs in the second and final match of the series at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday. It marked the first time Bangladesh won a Test by an innings margin against any opposition in its 112-Test history, a win that completed a sweep of the two- match series following its 64-run victory in the first Test in Chattogram. The platform was laid by off-spinner Mehidy Hasan, who finished with a match haul of 12-117, the best figures by a Bangladeshi bowler, and the batsmen with Shakib Al Hasan, Shadman Islam, Liton Das and Mahmudullah Riyad amongst the runs. Riyad's ton helped Bangladesh to a first innings total of 508.

Bangladesh compiled 508 in its first innings, thanks to a career-best 136 from Mahmudullah and three half-centuries from skipper Shakib Al Hasan (80), opener Shadman Islam (76) and Liton Das (54), after which the spinners took the charge. Mehidy recorded his career-best bowling figures in an innings, claiming 7-58 to skittle the Caribbeans for 111 in its first innings after the tourists resumed on day three on 75-5. With a 397-run lead, Shakib Al Hasan had no hesitation in enforcing the follow-on.
